New Delhi (Gurpreet Singh): The Delhi High Court has notified the creation of a specialized fast-track court at the Rouse Avenue Court Complex to exclusively adjudicate criminal cases involving examination paper leaks and fraudulent practices in public tests. In an official administrative notification, the High Court designated Judicial Officer Anu Grover Baliga as the Special Judge to preside over the newly established court, transferring her from her previous assignment as the Judge-in-Charge of the Mediation Centre at Tis Hazari Courts.
The newly formed judicial body will hear offences falling under the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, along with connected statutory violations. Operating under the official designation of Special Judge (PC Act) (CBI)-25, the fast-track tribunal is empowered to streamline judicial proceedings, expedite evidence examination, and deliver timely verdicts for offences related to national entrance tests, including the disputed NEET-UG examinations.
The judicial notification follows public announcements by Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the establishment of dedicated judicial mechanisms to ensure swift prosecution and stringent penalties for individuals or organized networks involved in academic malpractices. By centralizing prosecution under a dedicated judicial officer, the initiative aims to clear legal backlogs, restore public trust in national testing standards, and provide structured legal accountability for affected students across the country.
