Delhi Airport on Alert After Bomb Threat on IndiGo Flight From Mumbai

New Delhi (Rajeev Sharma): A high alert was declared at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on Tuesday morning after an IndiGo flight from Mumbai received a bomb threat mid-air. The aircraft, operating as flight 6E 762, landed safely with around 200 passengers on board, officials confirmed.

The threat was reported while the Airbus A321neo was en route to Delhi. Following standard emergency protocols, a full emergency was declared at the airport before the plane’s arrival. The aircraft touched down without incident at approximately 7:53 AM and was directed to a remote bay for inspection.

Security agencies and bomb disposal teams swiftly arrived to carry out detailed checks. Initial assessments indicated the threat was “non-specific,” but all precautions were taken, and no suspicious items were found during the screening process.

IndiGo, in a statement, said, “We immediately alerted the authorities and extended full cooperation for the security procedures. The aircraft was cleared after thorough checks.”

Passengers were kept informed throughout the incident, and refreshments were provided during the delay. The airline assured that customer safety remained its highest priority and thanked passengers for their patience.

Authorities are now investigating the origin of the threat. Flight operations at the airport resumed normally after the aircraft was cleared.
