Saini Promises Swift Action to Resolve Factor Shortage and Implement Social Security Pension
Chandigarh, July 14 — A delegation of hemophilia patients and social activists met Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Monday at his residence to raise pressing concerns over the ongoing shortage of life-saving medicines Factor VIII and Factor IX in the state.
The delegation informed the Chief Minister about the severe difficulties faced by hemophilia patients due to irregular supplies of these essential clotting factors, which are critical in managing their bleeding disorders. They urged the government to ensure uninterrupted availability of these medicines across the state’s healthcare facilities.
The representatives also requested the immediate implementation of the social security pension scheme for hemophilia and thalassemia patients, announced in the state budget for the year 2025-26. They emphasized that this financial assistance is crucial for patients grappling with high medical expenses and loss of income due to their health conditions.
Among those who met the Chief Minister were Rakesh Yadav from Kaithal, Vishnu Goyal from Yamunanagar, Ajay Sharma from Rohtak, Joginder Sethi from Bhuna (Fatehabad), and Sukhbir from Kurukshetra, along with several others.
CM Saini listened attentively to the delegation’s concerns and assured them that solutions would be implemented within a week. He further stated that he would instruct the relevant departments to take necessary action promptly to address both the medicine shortage and the rollout of the pension scheme.
