Constable Found Dead in Vehicle Near 9th Battalion Office in Amritsar; Police Probe Underway

National Times Bureau :- A wave of panic swept through Amritsar when the body of a Punjab Police constable was discovered inside a vehicle parked outside the 9th Battalion office. The deceased, identified as 25-year-old Gurkirat Singh from Umrawal village in Gurdaspur district, had sustained a gunshot wound. According to ACP Dr. Sheetal Singh, Gurkirat Singh, who joined the police force in 2018, had recently returned from Amarnath Yatra law and order duty in Pathankot and had brought his weapon to Patiala for maintenance. Police rushed to the spot after receiving information and have called in a forensic team to assist with the investigation. The exact cause of death remains unclear, and authorities have stated that further details will emerge following the post-mortem examination.
