Rohtak, March 3, 2025 – Haryana Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the murder of Congress worker Himani Narwal, whose body was found stuffed in a suitcase near a highway in Rohtak on March 1. Authorities have launched a Special Investigation Task Force (SIT) to probe the case, using forensic and cyber tools to examine all possible angles.
Mother Alleges Political Motive
The victim’s mother, Savita, has made serious allegations, blaming the election and the Congress Party for her daughter’s death. She claims that Himani’s rising influence within the party and her close ties with senior Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi and the Hooda family, may have led to enmity.
“My daughter was at home on February 28 and had been receiving threats. The party and the elections cost her life. The culprits could be from the party or even her friends,” she stated. She has refused to perform Himani’s last rites until justice is served.
Congress Demands Swift Justice
Senior Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda condemned the murder, calling it a reflection of Haryana’s deteriorating law and order, particularly concerning crimes against women. He urged a thorough investigation and strict punishment for those responsible, regardless of political affiliations.
“The state is witnessing a breakdown of law and order. Haryana is number one in the country in crimes against women. I have spoken to the Superintendent of Police, and they are hopeful of finding clues soon,” Hooda said.
As investigations continue, the police are expected to provide further updates.
