Congress to Hold Mega Rally at Ramlila Maidan, Rao Narendra Singh Calls It a Fight to Protect Democracy

Chandigarh, December 13, 2025: The Congress party’s proposed “Vote Thieves, Vacate the Throne” mega rally at Delhi’s historic Ramlila Maidan is set to make a strong political statement, with Haryana Pradesh Congress President Rao Narendra Singh describing it as a decisive turning point in national politics and a determined effort to safeguard democracy and the Constitution.

Rao Narendra Singh said the rally would act as a powerful rebuttal to what he termed the BJP government’s alleged campaign of repression and misuse of authority. He accused the ruling party of weakening the country’s social fabric by undermining democratic institutions and striking at the core values enshrined in the Constitution.

Launching a sharp attack on the BJP, Rao alleged that central investigating agencies were being repeatedly misused for political ends. He further claimed that even constitutional bodies such as the Election Commission were being pressured, alleging that power was being captured in state after state through what he described as systematic vote theft.

The Congress leader said the mega rally would prominently raise concerns over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process and alleged irregularities in electoral rolls. According to him, growing questions over the fairness of elections are eroding public trust in democratic processes and pose a serious threat to the credibility of Indian democracy.

The rally, to be held under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, is expected to witness the participation of lakhs of Congress workers from across the country. Rao Narendra Singh said Haryana would play a key role, with a large number of committed and politically conscious workers from the state joining the mobilisation in Delhi.

He added that Congress workers from Rajasthan, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and several other states were already heading to the national capital. The presence of senior party leaders and the massive turnout, he said, could emerge as a significant political challenge to the BJP.

Calling the rally a historic moment, Rao Narendra Singh said the mobilisation at Ramlila Maidan would mark a new chapter in Indian politics. He asserted that under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership, the show of unity and strength by Congress supporters would shake the foundations of what he described as a corrupt ruling establishment.
