Chandigarh, December 5 — Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has directed officials to ensure the swift establishment of five proposed labour courts in Palwal, Rewari, Sonipat, Jhajjar and Bawal. He said any delay or negligence in setting up these courts would not be tolerated and instructed departments to complete the work with full seriousness.
The Chief Minister issued these directions while reviewing the progress of Budget 2025–26 announcements at the Civil Secretariat on Thursday evening. He said the creation of labour courts will provide timely justice to lakhs of workers and strengthen transparency and trust within the industrial ecosystem.
He also instructed officials to accelerate the construction of the ESI hospitals proposed in Sonipat and Karnal. These hospitals, he said, will offer modern and improved healthcare services to labourers, industrial workers and nearby residents. During the meeting, officials informed that construction of the ESI hospital in Bawal is 86% complete, while work in Panchkula has reached 97% and Bahadurgarh 96%.
The meeting was informed that Haryana aims to set up 250 canteens under the Antyodaya Aahar Yojana by 2027, where workers will receive clean and nutritious meals at affordable prices.
The Chief Minister reiterated that worker welfare remains one of the government’s highest priorities. Whether it is rapid grievance redressal or expanding healthcare infrastructure, he said the state is taking strong steps in every direction to safeguard labour rights and improve living conditions.
He added that the labour force forms the backbone of Haryana’s economic development, and the government is committed to ensuring their safety, convenience and dignity.
Saini instructed departments to regularly monitor all labour-related projects announced in the state budget. He expressed confidence that with proper coordination and faster execution, all targets would be met on time, ensuring maximum benefit for workers.
The meeting was attended by Chief Principal Secretary to CM Rajesh Khullar, Principal Secretary of Labour Department Rajeev Ranjan, Commissioner and Secretary of Finance Department Mohammad Sayeed, Labour Commissioner D.K. Behera, OSD to CM Raj Nehru and other senior officials.
