Jageshwar, October 29, 2025 — Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday visited the revered Jageshwar Dham temple complex, where he offered prayers and sought blessings for the peace, prosperity, and well-being of the state. During the visit, he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for six key development projects worth ₹76.78 crore, marking a major step toward transforming Jageshwar Dham into a world-class spiritual and tourism destination.

The Chief Minister’s visit included a walkthrough of the temple premises, where he reviewed the Jageshwar Dham Master Plan with local authorities. CM Dhami emphasized the importance of completing all projects within the stipulated time frame and maintaining the highest standards of quality. He described Jageshwar as not only a center of faith and devotion but also as a place of immense cultural and historical significance for the people of Uttarakhand and beyond. “It is our collective responsibility to ensure that this sacred site receives the divine and grand transformation it deserves,” he said while addressing the media.

He highlighted that the number of pilgrims visiting Jageshwar has been steadily rising each year, which makes it essential to improve basic infrastructure and ensure a comfortable experience for devotees. The Chief Minister stressed that such improvements would enhance the region’s religious tourism potential and bring long-term economic benefits to the local population. He also noted that the development of both Jageshwar and Vridha Jageshwar, which hold deep mythological, cultural, and spiritual importance, is vital for preserving Uttarakhand’s sacred legacy.

The projects inaugurated by CM Dhami include the improvement of the Danya–Ara–Salpard Motor Road, which will strengthen connectivity, and the upgradation of the Chaykhan–Thuasiml Motor Road to improve safety and accessibility. He also inaugurated a new 33/11 KV substation at Satyun to ensure a stable and efficient power supply to the region.

In addition to these, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for new projects aimed at strengthening education and infrastructure. These include the construction of the Government Polytechnic Salt Campus to promote higher and technical education, a residential complex in Danya to provide housing for faculty and staff, and a new mechanical building at Government Polytechnic Dwarahat to boost technical training and skill development opportunities.

Dhami reiterated his commitment to ensuring the timely and high-quality completion of all these projects. He said the transformation of Jageshwar Dham represents a holistic approach, combining spiritual enrichment with economic growth, infrastructure improvement, and job creation. The initiatives, he noted, will significantly contribute to sustainable development, strengthen cultural tourism, and create new opportunities for local communities.

Several dignitaries attended the event, including BJP District President Mahesh Nyal, District Magistrate Anshul Singh, SSP Devendra Pincha, CDO Ramjeesharan Sharma, SDM Sanjay Kumar, and Tehsildar Barkha Jalal. The program was warmly received by local residents and officials, reflecting widespread support for the government’s initiatives to modernize and preserve Uttarakhand’s cultural heritage.
