CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Flags Off Traditional Chhari Yatra from Haridwar’s Maya Devi Temple

Haridwar, September 27: The traditional Chhari Yatra began in Haridwar on Friday with rituals at the historic Maya Devi Temple. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami offered prayers, performed a yajna, and carried out the ceremonial worship of the sacred staff before lifting it onto his shoulder and circumambulating the temple.

The auspicious ritual marked the formal commencement of the annual Chhari Yatra, a deeply revered tradition in the holy city. The event witnessed the presence of prominent saints, including Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Kailashanand Giri Maharaj of Niranjani Akhada, Akhada Parishad president Shri Mahant Ravindra Puri Maharaj, and Mahamandaleshwar Hari Giri, along with seers from various akhadas.

The Chhari Yatra, steeped in centuries-old customs, holds immense spiritual significance for devotees, symbolizing devotion and continuity of sacred traditions in Haridwar.
