CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Extends Diwali Greetings, Urges Citizens to Celebrate with Cleanliness and Harmony

Dehradun, October 19, 2025 — Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday extended heartfelt Diwali greetings to the people of the state, urging them to celebrate the festival with a sense of cleanliness, environmental awareness, and social harmony.

In his message, CM Dhami called on citizens to take part in the state’s journey toward sustainable development, while keeping alive the spirit of Diwali through responsible celebration. “With the love and blessings of all of you, we are able to take the state forward on the path of development and prosperity. Heartfelt best wishes to all of you for Deepotsav,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Dhami said that Diwali represents the victory of light over darkness and truth over falsehood, inspiring society to spread purity, hope, and positive energy. He expressed hope that the festival would bring new opportunities, happiness, and prosperity to the people of Uttarakhand.

Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister hosted a Diwali meet-and-greet at his official residence in Dehradun, where ministers, Members of Parliament, MLAs, and senior officers from the IAS, IPS, and IFS extended festive greetings.

CM Dhami had also shared warm wishes for Dhanteras on Saturday, praying for happiness and well-being across all households.

The ongoing Deepotsav celebrations commemorate Lord Ram’s return to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil. This year’s five-day Diwali festivities began with Dhanteras on October 18 and will culminate on the night of October 20–21, with homes across India glowing in light and togetherness.
