CM Nayab Singh Saini’s Wife Leads Women’s Empowerment Drive in Haryana

Chandigarh, March 26 – Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini’s wife, Suman Saini, is actively supporting his efforts to empower women. In a unique initiative, the Haryana State Council for Child Welfare, under her leadership, hosted the Kamal Sakhi event at the CM’s official residence, Sant Kabir Kutir. The event brought together wives of ministers and MLAs to discuss ideas for women’s empowerment and strengthen the “One Party, One Family” ideology.

Kamal Sakhi: Strengthening Family Bonds in Politics
The Kamal Sakhi platform was inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda to provide a space where families of politicians can connect. While ministers, MPs, and MLAs frequently meet during official events, their family members rarely get a chance to interact. This initiative aims to enhance relationships through shared ideas and cultural values.
Earlier, CM Nayab Singh Saini promoted women’s empowerment by organizing a Teej celebration in Jind, where he gifted ‘Kauthali’—a traditional offering exchanged between families to strengthen sibling bonds. Recently, at the swearing-in ceremony of new mayors, chairpersons, and councillors in Panchkula, women’s participation exceeded 50%, showcasing the Haryana government’s commitment to 50% reservation for women in local governance.

First-of-Its-Kind Event at CM’s Residence
For the first time in Haryana’s history, a CM’s wife has invited ministers’ and MLAs’ wives to the official residence for a collective discussion on women’s welfare. Suman Saini has previously hosted Haryanvi festivals and celebrations at the CM’s residence, reinforcing cultural traditions.
The event was attended by Haryana Assembly Speaker Harvinder Kalyan, Health Minister Kumari Aarti Singh Rao, Women & Child Development Minister Shruti Choudhary, and MLAs Krishna Gehlawat, Shakti Rani Sharma, and Bimla Choudhary, along with several members of the Kamal Sakhi platform.
