CM Nayab Singh Saini Releases ₹404.79 Crore for Haryana Panchayati Raj Institutions

Chandigarh, October 1, 2025: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday announced a major boost for rural development by releasing the second installment of ₹404.79 crore under the State Finance Commission. The funds will be directly transferred to 5,719 gram panchayats, 144 panchayat samitis, and three zila parishads, providing fresh momentum to grassroots development projects and local public amenities.

The announcement was made during a press conference in Chandigarh, attended by Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Krishan Lal Panwar, Cooperation Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Krishan Kumar Bedi, and MLA Randhir Panihar.

The Chief Minister underlined that over the past four years, his government has provided ₹3,700 crore to Panchayati Raj institutions for development works, of which ₹3,300 crore has been spent directly on village infrastructure and civic facilities.

He emphasized that the government’s approach goes beyond financial allocation, aiming to strengthen local governance in line with the 73rd Constitutional Amendment. “When elected representatives at the village level are empowered with resources and authority, they can make decisions better aligned with local needs and priorities,” he said.

CM Saini expressed confidence that panchayats would use the funds transparently and ensure active public participation in implementing schemes. He added that stronger decision-making at the grassroots level leads to wider and more effective development outcomes.
