Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini spearheaded a major environmental and youth outreach initiative in Pinjore on Tuesday, urging citizens across the state to turn environmental protection into a widespread public movement. Speaking as the chief guest at a youth dialogue and tree plantation event at the Pinjore Apple Market, the Chief Minister, alongside Environment Minister Rao Narbir Singh, flagged off four dedicated LED awareness vans under the Van Chetna Yatra 2026. The mobile units will travel across all Haryana districts to encourage tree plantation, promote conservation practices, and spread sustainable living messages under the national ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign.
Highlighting regional infrastructure and youth development projects, Chief Minister Saini announced plans to develop Tikkar Taal in Morni into a mountain climbing training center modeled after Manali, complete with upgraded base facilities. Addressing specific local and administrative demands, the Chief Minister pledged to appoint a dedicated officer in the Chief Minister’s Office to address youth grievances, include one thousand young adults under the Chief Minister Tirth Yatra Scheme, and construct a dedicated power sub-station and parking facility for apple traders at the Pinjore Apple Market.
Outlining state ecological policies, the Chief Minister highlighted several ongoing conservation programs, including the Pran Vayu Devta Pension Scheme, which provides three thousand rupees annually per tree for the care of trees older than 75 years. He noted that Haryana is developing 53 herbal parks, establishing Oxy-Van urban forests across district headquarters, and creating Panchvati groves in rural villages and sacred sites. Environment and Industry Minister Rao Narbir Singh added that environmental health directly aligns with sustainable industrial growth, noting that Haryana’s current industrial policy aims to attract up to six lakh crore rupees in investments to generate substantial employment opportunities for local youth.
