Gurugram, June 1, 2025: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday emphasized that the ‘One Nation, One Election’ concept is not just a political idea but a national interest initiative that promotes efficiency, unity, and resource optimization. Speaking as the chief guest at the ‘Gurugram Run’ based on the theme, the Chief Minister rallied youth to support and spread awareness about the idea, calling it an essential part of nation-building.

Addressing a large crowd of youth before flagging off the run, CM Saini underlined that this initiative reflects Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of unity and progress. He said conducting simultaneous elections across the country would drastically reduce expenditure, allow better use of administrative machinery, and ensure uninterrupted development.
The Chief Minister urged the youth to become ambassadors of this reform—whether through discussions in colleges, social media, or village meetings. “This is not just the government’s responsibility; every citizen must take part,” he said. He called the run not only a symbol of physical fitness but also of democratic fitness.

Highlighting past national movements, Saini cited the success of the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign, which began in Haryana and grew into a nationwide movement. He also referenced the recent Pahalgam terror attack, stating that India’s unity was reflected in the nationwide Tiranga Yatras that followed, reinforcing collective resolve against terrorism.
Praising Gurugram, the CM said the city is not only a hub of modern entrepreneurship and youth empowerment but also a beacon of change for Haryana and the entire nation. He said this land—dedicated to innovation and skill—can lead a transformative movement across India. “This idea should rise above political boundaries and become a national priority,” he added.
He noted that constitutional changes can be considered if they strengthen democracy and governance. “India is the world’s largest democracy. The ‘One Nation, One Election’ concept stems from a vision of making our system more capable, transparent, and harmonized,” he said. The event, he concluded, is not just about fitness, but about future-readiness.
Minister of State for Sports Gaurav Gautam also addressed the gathering, stressing the importance of youth support in PM Modi’s mission. He explained that repeated elections disrupt development and drain economic resources. “Youth must understand the need and spread awareness. This mission will lay the foundation for a stronger and more efficient India,” he said.
Several dignitaries attended the event, including Industry and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh, BJP State President Mohan Lal Kaushik, MLAs Bimla Chaudhary and Mukesh Sharma, Gurugram Mayor Raj Rani Malhotra, BJP National Secretary Om Prakash Dhankhar, and former MP Sunita Duggal.
