Chandigarh, November 14 – Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini today attended the state-level programme held in Rai, Sonipat, to commemorate the 350th martyrdom day of Amar Shaheed Dada Kushal Singh Dahiya. Addressing the gathering, he urged the youth to draw inspiration from the ideals of brave heroes like Dada Kushal Singh Dahiya and remain committed to protecting India’s culture, faith and national pride while working towards making the nation a global leader.
The Chief Minister announced several development projects, including renaming the road from GT Road to Badkhalsa—stretching from Naggal Kalan to Manauli village—as Dada Kushal Singh Dahiya Marg. He also declared that the Badkhalsa community centre will be renamed after the martyr and the existing memorial in Badkhalsa will be renovated.
He further announced the construction of a Skill Development Park for women and youth in village Dipalpur at a cost of ₹1 crore, and sanctioned ₹65 lakh for a new community centre in the village. CM Saini also granted ₹31 lakh for the Badkhalsa memorial.
The Chief Minister said that 25 kilometres of roads in the Rai constituency will be strengthened under the Khet-Khalihaan Yojana. He approved the elevation of the Malikpur–Tajpur road, repair work on the stretch from Biswa Mill to Barot Chowki, and beautification of the pond along the Malikpur–Tajpur route. He directed the Pond Development Authority to inspect and upgrade village ponds where required. He also announced the construction of a building for an Urban Health Centre in Kundli, subject to land availability.
Highlighting drinking water issues, CM Saini said that supply for Bahalgarh residents will be ensured through the Jajal Ranneywell connection. He further announced that an STP will be constructed in village Khewra for Bahalgarh’s sewerage system.
A Martyrdom That Embodies Courage and Self-Sacrifice
CM Saini paid tribute to Dada Kushal Singh Dahiya, recalling how he sacrificed his own life to protect the sacred head of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and ensure its safe passage to Anandpur Sahib. He described the sacrifice as an exceptional symbol of honour, courage and unmatched bravery, etched in golden letters in history.
He said the purpose of this state-level event is to take Dada Dahiya’s story of devotion and sacrifice to every citizen, especially the youth, so they can cultivate a spirit of service, duty and national commitment. The Badkhalsa Memorial Complex in Rai is being developed into a national-level centre of inspiration.
The Chief Minister noted that Haryana has always been a land of valour, adding that Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji visited the state multiple times, offering spiritual guidance and inspiring people to stand firm for faith and righteousness.
Centre Advancing India’s Spiritual Heritage on Global Stage
CM Saini said the Union Government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working continuously to bring global recognition to India’s spiritual heritage. From the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji to the ongoing 350th martyrdom year of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the nation has seen significant initiatives in honour of Sikh history and legacy.
He said the state government is organising four sacred yatras across Haryana as part of the commemoration. These will conclude in Kurukshetra on November 24, followed by a grand event on November 25, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the chief guest.
Dada Kushal Singh Dahiya’s Sacrifice Etched in History: Mahipal Dhanda
Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda said Dada Kushal Singh Dahiya’s sacrifice is immortal and continues to inspire generations. He said Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and Dada Dahiya epitomised truth, human rights, religious freedom and the defence of humanity.
BJP state president Mohan Lal Kaushik and MLA Krishna Gahalawat also addressed the gathering.
Several dignitaries, including Cabinet Ministers Krishan Lal Panwar, Dr Arvind Sharma, Delhi MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat, Rajya Sabha MP Subhash Barala, MLAs Pawan Kharkhoda, Nikhil Madan, Devender Kadian, Randhir Panihar, Rajesh June, CM’s OSD Virender Singh Badkhalsa, Dada Kushal Singh Dahiya Committee president Veer Singh Dahiya, and former minister Manish Grover were present.
