CM Nayab Singh Saini announces major development package for Faridabad

Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): During the “Viksit Faridabad Rally” held on Saturday, April 4, 2026, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini unveiled a series of transformative projects aimed at upgrading the city’s infrastructure, healthcare, and environmental sustainability. The Chief Minister emphasized that a phased improvement of major traffic junctions will be undertaken to reduce vehicular pollution and ensure smoother commutes for residents. Furthermore, to address long-standing water quality issues, the state government will coordinate with Uttar Pradesh to explore the possibility of bringing fresh drinking water from the Upper Ganga Canal to Faridabad.

Water conservation emerged as a primary focus during the rally, with the Chief Minister announcing the installation of rainwater harvesting systems in 50 community centers and parks in the first phase. He mandated that all government buildings must also incorporate these systems to mitigate waterlogging and replenish groundwater. To enhance the city’s green cover, a Nature Park will be developed in Greater Faridabad under the Divya Nagar Yojana at an estimated cost of ₹10 crore. Additionally, a large banquet hall will be constructed atop a multilevel parking structure on HSVP land near the Labor Court.

Key infrastructure and healthcare highlights:

The Chief Minister announced the establishment of a PPP-mode multispecialty hospital in Sector 8 to provide advanced medical care to the local population. In a boost for the education sector, the state government has pledged to provide land for a new Kendriya Vidyalaya in Greater Faridabad. For sports enthusiasts, the existing swimming pool in Sector 12 will be upgraded to an all-weather facility meeting international standards through a public-private partnership.

Economic growth and modern lifestyle amenities are also central to the new plan. IMD Sector 66 will be transformed into a commercial “Entertainment City” featuring multiplexes, hotels, and cinema halls. The Chief Minister highlighted that the recently approved Delhi-Gurugram-Faridabad-Noida RRTS/Namo Bharat Corridor will provide unprecedented connectivity and economic strength to the region. He concluded by granting an additional ₹5 crore specifically for immediate local development works, reiterating his administration’s commitment to making Faridabad a leading urban hub in North India.
