Vows Zero Tolerance for Disturbance, Urges Public to Avoid Rumours
Chandigarh, July 17, 2025 — Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann held a high-level security review meeting on Thursday in response to threat emails received by Sri Darbar Sahib, Amritsar. The meeting included top Punjab Police officials and focused on assessing the situation and reinforcing preventive measures.
Following the meeting, CM Mann stated that the state government would not compromise on security and emphasized that police and intelligence agencies are fully alert. He reiterated that Punjab’s peace and communal harmony would be protected at all costs.
“Our government stands firm on the safety of all religious places,” Mann said. “Whether a temple, mosque, church, or gurdwara each holds deep respect. We will ensure complete security for all.”
He also called on citizens to remain cautious and not spread or believe in unverified rumours. “Those trying to disturb Punjab’s peace through threats or misinformation will be dealt with strictly,” he warned.
Mann confirmed that surveillance has been intensified and all agencies are working in close coordination to avoid any untoward incidents. He added that maintaining law and order is the administration’s top priority.
