CJP Protest Begins at Jantar Mantar Amid Tight Security Across Delhi

Rajeev Sharma :- Members of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) on Saturday began their protest at Jantar Mantar against alleged irregularities in competitive examinations, prompting heightened security arrangements across the national capital.

The protest, led by CJP founder Abhijeet Deepke, drew a significant number of supporters to the designated venue after the organisation announced that it had received official permission to hold the demonstration at Jantar Mantar.

In view of the gathering, Delhi Police, assisted by paramilitary forces, intensified security measures at key locations across the city. Additional personnel were deployed in central Delhi, at Indira Gandhi International Airport, major railway stations, interstate bus terminals and border entry points connecting the capital with neighbouring states.

According to sources, nearly 40 companies of paramilitary forces have been stationed across sensitive areas to support local police in maintaining law and order. Senior officers, including Joint Commissioners of Police, Deputy Commissioners of Police and other field officials, have been assigned to oversee security arrangements on the ground.

Authorities have also stepped up vehicle checks on major routes leading to central Delhi and other strategic locations. Security has been enhanced outside the residence of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan as a precautionary measure.

Police officials said all field units have been placed on alert and contingency plans are in place to deal with any untoward situation. Intelligence and Special Branch teams are closely monitoring developments, while social media activity linked to the protest is also under surveillance to prevent any disruption to public order.
