National Times Bureau :- A controversy has erupted after remarks made by Congress leader Ravneet Singh Bittu, drawing sharp criticism from the Christian community. The comments, which many have described as hurtful and insensitive, have sparked widespread resentment across the state.
The Punjab State Minority Commission has taken cognisance of the matter and has formally demanded an apology from Bittu, stating that his words have hurt the sentiments of the Christian minority. Community leaders have also urged political figures to exercise restraint and show respect toward all faiths, warning that such statements can disturb communal harmony.
As pressure mounts, the commission has indicated it will pursue the matter further if a public apology is not issued soon.
