Chandigarh (National Times): The Chandigarh State Cooperative Bank Limited has taken a significant decision to benefit the youth of Chandigarh. A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Sh. Satinderpal Singh Sidhu, Chairman, Chandigarh State Cooperative Bank.
Present during the meeting were Smt. Anuradha Chagti, Managing Director of The Chandigarh State Cooperative Bank Limited, Chandigarh; Sh. Naveen Rattu, SDM Central; and other senior officials.
During the meeting it was decided that the Board of Directors resolved to reserve 85% of jobs in the bank for Chandigarh residents.
Out of this 85% quota, 15% of posts will be specifically earmarked for the original inhabitants of Chandigarh villages.
The quota will apply to all categories of recruitment—including regular, contract-based, part-time, and outsourced positions. For the remaining 15% of posts, preference will be given to candidates from other states, including Punjab and Haryana.
Despite Chandigarh serving as the capital of Punjab and Haryana, its youth have often not been given priority in employment opportunities, as Chandigarh is treated administratively as a separate entity. Recognizing this gap, the Board has taken this proactive measure to ensure local candidates are adequately represented in the bank’s workforce.
In addition to the recruitment policy, the Board of Directors approved the bank’s loan policy during the meeting and sanctioned the upgradation of the Sector-22 branch to enhance customer service and operational capacity.
