Dehradun, August 13, 2025: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the Centre sanctioned ₹547.83 crore for underground cabling in Rishikesh and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) works in Dehradun.
In a post on X, Dhami expressed his gratitude “on behalf of the people of Devbhoomi,” noting that the approval followed his earlier request to the Centre. He said the underground cabling project would strengthen the power infrastructure, ensuring a stable electricity supply and protection from weather-related disruptions.
“This project is a significant step towards making the power infrastructure modern, safe, and reliable,” Dhami wrote, adding that underground systems would reduce maintenance costs, enhance urban aesthetics, and provide resilience against disasters.
Highlighting the role of the “double-engine government,” Dhami reiterated his administration’s commitment to the all-round and inclusive development of Uttarakhand.
Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister hoisted the tricolour at his residence in Dehradun under the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign. He praised the initiative, launched under PM Modi’s inspiration, as a “great campaign of patriotism” that has reached every citizen. Dhami urged people to display the national flag at their homes, offices, and shops this Independence Day, salute the freedom fighters, and share photographs with the tricolour on the official campaign website.
