New Delhi, November 25, 2025 — The Supreme Court on Tuesday upheld the dismissal of Lieutenant Samuel Kamalesan, a Christian Army officer, calling his refusal to participate in a regimental ‘sarva dharma’ ceremony “the grossest kind of indiscipline”.A Bench of Chief Justice of India Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi rejected Lt Kamalesan’s plea against his removal, observing that his conduct undermined the spirit of unity expected from military leadership.“What message was he giving his troops?
