Calgary (Rajeev Sharma): The Government of Alberta has announced a $5.5 million investment to build a new detachment for the Blood Tribe Police Service, marking a significant step in strengthening Indigenous-led policing and enhancing public safety in First Nations communities. The Blood Tribe Police Service, one of Canada’s longest-standing self-administered First Nations police forces, has been operating out of a facility built in 1990.
