National Times Bureau, May 4, 2025: A Pakistani Ranger has been detained by the Border Security Force (BSF) at the Line of Control in Rajasthan, officials confirmed on May 4. The name of the detained individual has not been disclosed yet.
This incident comes just days after BSF jawan Purnam Kumar Sahu was taken into custody by Pakistani Rangers after he accidentally crossed the border near Ferozepur. Sahu had reportedly mistaken the boundary and walked into Pakistani territory while seeking rest under a tree.
While both countries follow a standard protocol to repatriate individuals who inadvertently cross borders, Pakistan has yet to return the Indian jawan. The BSF has now detained the Pakistani Ranger and is holding him in custody at its Rajasthan unit.
The situation underscores ongoing tensions and procedural delays in managing border incidents. Authorities are closely monitoring the developments.
