New Delhi (Rajeev Sharma): A commercial cargo vessel carrying three Indian nationals came under attack in the Black Sea, resulting in the deaths of two foreign crew members and injuries to several people on board.
The vessel, MV Royad Mammadov, was reportedly targeted while sailing through the region, raising fresh concerns over the safety of civilian shipping operating in the conflict-affected waters.
The Indian Embassy in Romania said all three Indian crew members aboard the ship are safe. One of the Indian nationals sustained injuries and has been receiving medical attention.
The diplomatic mission has remained in contact with the relevant authorities and is monitoring the situation involving the Indian crew.
The incident adds to growing concerns surrounding commercial vessels navigating the Black Sea, where military activity and attacks have repeatedly created risks for civilian maritime traffic.
For the Indian nationals involved, officials said their safety has been confirmed, while medical care continues for the injured crew member.
