Bikram Singh Majithia Faces 8 Hours of Questioning by SIT for Second Day in Drug Racket Case

Patiala, March 18: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) set up by the Punjab government questioned Bikram Singh Majithia for the second day straight in the high-profile drug racket case. Majithia appeared before the SIT, led by DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar, at the police lines at 11:00 AM and left around 6:30 PM.

After the session, Majithia told reporters that he had urged the SIT to conclude the investigation as per the court’s instructions by either filing a closure report or presenting a charge sheet. He accused the SIT of deliberately delaying the investigation to harass him. Majithia said he was complying with the Supreme Court’s clear instructions to cooperate with the investigation and added that this is the fourth SIT formed to investigate the case. He stated that he has consistently answered all questions and thanked the Supreme Court for directing the SIT to conclude the investigation promptly.

Majithia was booked under the NDPS Act on December 20, 2021, in Mohali. He surrendered in February 2022 and was jailed for several months before being granted bail. The Punjab government then formed another SIT under DIG Mukwinder Singh Chhina, who summoned Majithia multiple times. After Chhina’s retirement, DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar took over the investigation and resumed questioning Majithia. Following Majithia’s legal appeal, the Supreme Court ordered him to appear before the SIT and instructed the team to expedite the investigation.

Present at the scene were Gurpreet Singh Raju Khanna, Advocate Rakesh Parashar, Akash Bokser, Harjit Singh Jeeti, Anu, Rajveer, and others.
