Big news – Punjab Roadways Union Threatens Statewide Bus Strike Tomorrow

National Times Bureau :- The Punjab Roadways, PRTC, and Punbus Contract Workers’ Union has announced a complete bus strike across all 27 depots in Punjab starting tomorrow afternoon if their demands are not met by then.

Today, the union held gate rallies at every depot in the state to raise their voice. He accused the government of making false promises and delaying action.

The union has warned that if the government fails to take action by tomorrow afternoon, they will block all buses across the state, causing a full transport shutdown, which will severely affect daily passengers.

What Are Their Demands?

The union’s key demands include:

  • Regularization of contract workers
  • Increase in salaries for low-paid employees
  • Implementation of proper service rules
  • Removal of contractors
  • End to the transport mafia
  • Ban on kilometer-based private buses
  • Increase in the number of government buses to 10,000

The union has urged the government to act immediately, otherwise they will be forced to go on strike, impacting thousands of travelers across Punjab.
