“Bharat Will Not Bend to Terror”: Amit Shah Visits Pahalgam, Pays Tribute to Victims

Pahalgam, April 23, 2025 — A day after the brutal terrorist attack in Pahalgam claimed 26 civilian lives, Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited the site to pay respects, meet victims’ families, and take stock of the situation. Calling the act “dastardly”, Shah vowed strict action and assured that “Bharat will not bend to terror.”

Accompanied by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Shah traveled to the Baisaran meadow, where the attack took place. He was briefed by senior officials and security personnel on the ongoing investigation and the large-scale search operation to track down the terrorists responsible.

Later, Shah visited the Government Medical College and Hospital in Anantnag, where he interacted with those injured in the attack. He directed the administration to ensure the best medical care and offered support to the families affected by the tragedy.

In a solemn moment at the Police Control Room in Srinagar, Shah paid floral tributes to the deceased. “With a heavy heart, paid last respects to the deceased of the Pahalgam terror attack. Bharat will not bend to terror. The culprits of this dastardly terror attack will not be spared,” he posted on social media.

The attack on mostly tourist families has shaken the region, drawing condemnation from across the political spectrum. Security forces have intensified search operations in Anantnag and surrounding areas, with the Indian Army and J&K Police launching coordinated patrols.
