Chandigarh, September 7, 2025 – Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, though admitted in hospital, chaired a virtual cabinet meeting on Sunday to assess the ongoing flood crisis in the state.
Mann took a detailed review of rescue and relief operations across flood-hit regions. He instructed officials to ensure uninterrupted supply of food, medicines, and other essential items to families staying in relief camps. He also pressed district administrations to remain fully prepared for emergencies and maintain coordination with disaster response teams.
The Chief Minister directed authorities to prioritize the restoration of damaged roads, electricity lines, and drinking water systems. He assured that special attention would be given to farmers whose crops had been washed away, promising that the government would stand firmly with them during this difficult time.
Cabinet members and senior officials updated Mann on the repair work underway at various bundh sites and the progress of rehabilitation measures. Stressing transparency, he said that all relief material must reach genuine beneficiaries without delay.
Even while under medical supervision, Mann reaffirmed that his government’s commitment to protecting lives and livelihoods remained unwavering, and that Punjab would overcome this challenge collectively.
