Bathinda Blast: Army Operation Ongoing, 90% Explosives Neutralized

National Times Bureau :- The army-led operation to safely dispose of explosives at a Bathinda residence continues, a week after a blast at Gurpreet Singh’s house. According to officials, 90 percent of the seized explosive material has been destroyed so far, with the remaining stock scheduled for neutralization in the coming day.

The Counter Explosive Device Unit, forensic team, and bomb disposal squad reached the site from Delhi early Friday morning. The operation, which began at 9 a.m., has been carried out under strict safety protocols, with the area cordoned off to prevent any civilian access.

Three small blasts occurred during disposal, but no casualties were reported. The incident, which first occurred on 10th September, had left two family members seriously injured. Authorities continue to investigate the origin of the explosives, with initial findings suggesting potential links to illegal manufacturing of explosive devices.

Officials confirmed that after the remaining explosives are neutralized, the army will hand over a fully secured site to local police. The investigation into the accused, Gurpreet Singh, is ongoing, with evidence from his mobile and other sources being examined to understand his intentions.
