Artisans from Across India and Abroad to Showcase Craft at International Geeta Festival 2025

Chandigarh, October 12 – The International Geeta Festival 2025 is set to light up Kurukshetra from November 15 to December 5, with artisans from multiple Indian states adding vibrant hues of traditional craftsmanship. The festival will also feature folk art from several countries, celebrating and preserving global and regional cultural heritage.

A government spokesperson said the festival will span 21 days, with the main events scheduled from November 24 to December 1. The Ministry of External Affairs has facilitated participation from over 25 scholars representing more than 15 countries, whose performances and discussions will enrich the festival’s atmosphere.

Pre-festival activities include an online Geeta quiz from November 4 to 14 and the Geeta Run on November 15. From November 15 to December 5, a craft and arts fair will be held alongside daily evening Bhajan Sandhya and Maha Aarti at Purushottampura Bagh.

The main festival schedule includes: the Haryana Pavilion, partner state exhibitions, book fair, state-level exhibitions by the Public Relations Department, cultural performances at Purushottampura Bagh, Geeta Yajna and Poojan, International Geeta Seminar at Kurukshetra University, Sarvadharma Sammelan, and recitations at Jyotisar and Sannihit Sarovar. Highlights include a global Geeta reading at the theme park, the 48 Kos Teerth Sammelan at the university, and Deepotsav followed by Deepdan and Aarti at Brahmasarovar on December 1.

Thanks to the Ministry of External Affairs, festival programs will be simultaneously organized in over 40 countries, with live streaming of key events from Kurukshetra. Participating international scholars will also take the teachings of the Bhagavad Geeta back to their countries, spreading its message worldwide.
