Chandigarh (National Times): In a fresh political development, senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Punjab cabinet minister Anmol Gagan Maan has announced her decision to withdraw her resignation, reaffirming her faith in the party’s leadership.
Taking to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Maan wrote, “Met AAP Punjab president Aman Arora today. Accepted the decision of Aam Aadmi Party and Arvind Kejriwal to reject the resignation.”
Her public statement comes days after she had submitted her resignation amid growing speculation over internal party disagreements. However, with this move, she appears to have signaled a truce and a renewed commitment to the party’s goals and leadership.
Maan’s resignation had stirred political circles in Punjab, raising concerns over possible rifts within the state unit of AAP. Her decision to stay on is expected to bring some relief to the party, especially as it navigates complex political terrain in the state and continues to gear up for upcoming local body elections.
AAP Punjab president Aman Arora reportedly played a key role in the reconciliation, holding talks with Maan to address her concerns. The central leadership, including Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, had also expressed the desire to retain Maan within the cabinet and the party’s core structure.
Anmol Gagan Maan, who holds significant influence in Punjab’s youth and cultural circles, has been a prominent face in AAP’s outreach efforts, especially in rural and artist communities.
