Chandigarh (National Times): In a stunning and unexpected turn of events, Punjab MLA Anmol Gagan Maan has announced her resignation from the state assembly and declared her complete exit from politics.
Confirming her decision through an official statement, Maan said:
“My heart is heavy, but I have decided to leave politics. My resignation from the post of MLA to the Speaker should be accepted. My best wishes are with the party. I hope the Punjab government will live up to the expectations of the people.”
Her resignation comes as a major jolt to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Punjab, where she was seen as one of the prominent youth leaders, often praised for her active engagement, clean image, and cultural connect. A former singer turned politician, Maan had earned a notable place in the political landscape for championing issues related to youth, culture, and development.
As of now, the Punjab Legislative Assembly Speaker has not issued a formal statement on whether her resignation has been accepted.
