Amritsar Police Burst Cross-Border Arms Smuggling Module, Six Arrested

National Times Bureau :- Amritsar Police have dismantled a cross-border arms smuggling network and arrested six people in a major security operation near the international border. According to officials, the accused were part of an organized module involved in trafficking weapons into Punjab with the support of handlers across the border.

Police sources said the arrests followed a sustained intelligence-led operation aimed at disrupting the supply of illegal arms to criminal gangs and anti-social elements in the state. A significant quantity of weapons and ammunition has been seized during the crackdown, though details are yet to be officially disclosed.

Senior officers confirmed that further investigation is underway to establish the network’s foreign links, identify other operatives, and prevent future consignments from entering the state. Authorities described the arrests as a “major success” in the fight against organized smuggling and cross-border crime.
