Amritsar – Police Arrests Suspect Linked to International Terror Network

National Times Bureau :- Amritsar Rural Police, with the support of central intelligence agencies, have arrested a youth identified as Malkeet Singh from Pandori village. Authorities allege that he was involved in a plot to create unrest in Punjab with the backing of pro-Khalistan elements.

Weapons and Links to BKI Found

During the operation, police recovered a hand grenade, a .30 bore pistol, and live cartridges from his possession. Initial investigations revealed that Malkeet Singh had direct links with UK-based gangster Dharam Sandhu, a close aide of Harwinder Singh Rinda. Rinda is associated with the banned group Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) and is believed to be operating from Pakistan with the support of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

Terror Network Under Investigation

Investigators suspect that such terror networks are attempting to disturb Punjab’s peace by smuggling arms and narcotics and recruiting local youth for their plans. Police are probing how the weapons were delivered to Malkeet Singh and for what purpose they were intended.

FIR Registered; Further Arrests Likely

An FIR has been registered, and the police have intensified their investigation with assistance from central agencies. Authorities have stated that more arrests are likely as they work to dismantle the network. A press briefing is expected soon to share further details.
