Amit Shah’s Praise for Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Dhami Triggers Political Buzz

Dehradun, July 22, 2025: Two days after returning from Uttarakhand, Union Home Minister Amit Shah stirred political speculation on Monday by praising Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on social media. The warm words sparked fresh discussions in political circles, suggesting that Dhami may not only be close to Prime Minister Narendra Modi but is also earning strong backing from Shah.

On Saturday, Shah had participated in a grand event in Rudrapur to celebrate the ground-level implementation of investment promises worth ₹1 lakh crore. During the event, Shah and Dhami were seen sharing a strong rapport, which caught the attention of many observers. The Home Minister’s appreciation of Dhami’s efforts in turning the promises of the Global Investors Summit into reality was seen as more than a mere formality it carried political weight.

Now, with Shah’s new Facebook post on Monday, where he once again commended Dhami and the state of Uttarakhand, the chatter around their growing proximity has intensified. Until now, Dhami’s closeness to PM Modi was widely acknowledged, but Shah’s endorsement adds a new dimension to his political standing. The post has not only raised eyebrows among Dhami’s critics but also sent a significant signal within the BJP’s internal circles.

In his post, Shah reflected on his recent visit to the investment celebration and remarked that bringing investment to a hill state is as challenging as climbing a mountain far more difficult than doing so in a plain region. He wrote that breaking traditional assumptions, Uttarakhand has attracted over ₹1 lakh crore in investments. Congratulating Chief Minister Dhami as the representative of the people of Uttarakhand, Shah praised his leadership and commitment.

The message is being interpreted by many as a clear sign of Shah’s growing trust in Dhami, and a possible elevation in Dhami’s stature within the party. Political analysts believe this is more than praise it could indicate deeper political alignment and future roles in the BJP’s strategy.
