Amit Shah Offers CBI Probe in Warehouse Manager Suicide Case, Seeks Written Request from Punjab MPs

Gurpreet Singh :- The controversy surrounding the death of warehouse district manager Gagandeep Singh Randhawa escalated further on the third day as his postmortem remained pending, with the family continuing to demand the arrest of former minister Laljit Singh Bhullar. The issue reached the Lok Sabha, where Congress MP from Amritsar, Gurjeet Singh Aujla, raised serious allegations regarding irregularities in FCI warehouse tenders in Punjab.

While addressing the House, Aujla alleged that a state minister attempted to secure a 50,000 metric tonne tender and exerted pressure on officials, eventually obtaining a 20,000 metric tonne allocation, while the remaining was awarded elsewhere. He further claimed that the tender process faced an unexplained delay of nearly eight months.

During the proceedings, Union Home Minister Amit Shah intervened and stated that if all Punjab MPs submit a written request recommending a CBI inquiry, he would immediately transfer the case to the central agency. His response has added a new dimension to the case, intensifying political pressure and raising the possibility of a high-level investigation.
