Ahmedabad, April 10, 2025: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday praised Gujarat’s industrial strength, calling it a pioneer in sectors poised to shape the global economy over the next 25 years. Virtually addressing the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (GCCI) Annual Trade Expo 2025, Shah said the state’s leadership in industries of the future marks it as a key player on the world stage.
Highlighting the pivotal role of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), Shah called them India’s “greatest asset” in the industrial journey. He urged the GCCI to create a robust ecosystem that links traditional small-scale industries with startups to spark youth-driven innovation and entrepreneurship.
“Every large industry once started small,” Shah noted. “Gujarat’s MSMEs have significantly contributed to India’s industrial growth. Now, the focus should be on aligning them with startups to build a vibrant and dynamic business environment.”
He credited the state’s business-friendly environment to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tenure as Gujarat’s chief minister, which, he said, was being actively upheld by current CM Bhupendra Patel. Citing projects like the Kutch Renewable Energy Park, Dholera Smart City, and India’s first bullet train, Shah positioned Gujarat as a symbol of modern infrastructure and economic vision.
“Entrepreneurs who choose Gujarat know they’re entering a space free of political hurdles, supported by efficient systems and uninterrupted by strikes,” he said, underscoring the ease of doing business in the state.
Shah also commended the GCCI’s legacy of 75 years in advancing Gujarat’s economic development, maintaining government dialogue, and supporting the public during crises. “The chamber has always walked shoulder to shoulder with the people, playing a vital role in Gujarat’s growth story,” he concluded.
