All Government Hospitals Must Have Modern Facilities: Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini

Chandigarh, October 16 — Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday directed officials to ensure that all government hospitals across the state are equipped with modern facilities and maintain top-notch cleanliness standards. He emphasized that everything from building maintenance to sanitation must be kept in perfect order.

Chairing a review meeting in Chandigarh on the maintenance and cleanliness of nearly a dozen government hospitals, the Chief Minister said that strict action will be taken against officials or employees found negligent in maintaining cleanliness, while those who perform well will be honoured.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, Principal Secretary to CM Arun Kumar Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary (Health and Family Welfare) Sudhir Rajpal, Additional Chief Secretary (Public Works) Anurag Aggarwal, Finance Commissioner Mohammad Shayin, Additional Principal Secretary to CM Dr. Saket Kumar, OSD to CM Bharat Bhushan Bharti, Vivek Kalia, and other senior officials from the Health and Public Works Departments.

During the review, the Chief Minister assessed the progress of hospital maintenance, electrical works, reception and ward facilities, public amenities, landscaping, and cleanliness drives. He instructed officials to ensure that all hospitals remain neat, attractive, and well-maintained, assuring that there would be no shortage of funds for this purpose.

Saini stressed on developing a “cleanliness culture” in hospitals. He warned that any negligence in maintaining hygiene would lead to strict disciplinary action, while exemplary performers would be rewarded.

He further directed that hospital premises should be beautified and kept green, with regular care of plants, additional tree plantations, and well-maintained parks. The Chief Minister also reminded that once the Public Works Department completes renovation work, the responsibility for upkeep lies with the hospital’s Chief Medical Officer.
