Edmonton, Alberta (Rajeev Sharma): Alberta Health Services (AHS) and the Health Sciences Association of Alberta (HSAA) have reached a new collective agreement covering 22,000 health care professionals across more than 200 areas of specialization, including diagnostic imaging, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and physiotherapy, according to a statement from President of the Treasury Board and Minister of Finance Nate Horner.
Minister Horner praised the dedication and skill of these professionals, highlighting their vital role in delivering high-quality care to Albertans every day. “These skilled workers deliver exceptional care throughout the province every day, and on behalf of all Albertans, I thank them for their expertise and compassion,” he said.
The new agreement includes fair compensation increases and enhanced benefits, measures aimed at retaining and recruiting essential health care personnel. Minister Horner noted that the deal will contribute to long-term stability within Alberta’s health care system, supporting both the workforce and the patients who rely on their services.
“This agreement reflects our commitment to ensuring that Alberta’s health care professionals are recognized for their hard work and dedication, and it strengthens the foundation of our province’s health care system for the future,” Horner added.
