Akshay Kumar Commits Rs 5 Crore to Punjab Flood Relief Efforts, Characterizing it as ‘Sewa’ Rather Than a Donation

Toronto (Rajeev Sharma)– Renowned Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has pledged Rs 5 crore to support flood relief initiatives in Punjab, which has been severely impacted by heavy rainfall and rising water levels, resulting in the displacement of thousands of families.
Akshay Kumar emphasized that his contribution should be perceived as an act of service, rather than a donation. “For me, it’s my sewa, a modest contribution. Who am I to ‘donate’ to anyone, I feel blessed to be in a position to assist. Rab mehr kare,” he remarked, offering prayers for the recovery of Punjab’s residents. The funds will be utilized to facilitate the distribution of emergency supplies, rehabilitation efforts, and medical aid for those affected by the floods.
This is not Akshay Kumar’s first philanthropic endeavor. He has previously contributed to flood relief efforts in Assam and Chennai, supported COVID-19 relief initiatives, and backed the Bharat Ke Veer initiative, which benefits the families of soldiers. Akshay Kumar’s gesture has received widespread appreciation from fans and social groups, with many acknowledging it as a timely demonstration of solidarity with Punjab during its time of need.
