Akasa Air Flight From Pune to Delhi Hit by Bird, Lands Safely Without Incident

New Delhi (Rajeev Sharma): An Akasa Air flight traveling from Pune to the national capital encountered a bird strike on Thursday, prompting immediate attention from the airline’s engineering team upon arrival in Delhi.

Flight QP 1607, operating on the Pune-Delhi route on October 10, 2025, safely touched down at Indira Gandhi International Airport following the mid-air incident. All passengers and crew members on board were safely deplaned after landing, the airline confirmed.

In a statement, an Akasa Air spokesperson said, “The aircraft is being inspected by our engineering team as per our standard operating procedures. It will return to service only after a comprehensive safety check.”

No injuries were reported, and the airline has not indicated any major damage to the aircraft. Bird strikes, though not uncommon, are treated with utmost caution to ensure continued safety in operations. The location and timing of the bird hit during the flight have not been disclosed.

Akasa Air assured that all necessary protocols were followed and reaffirmed its commitment to passenger safety. The aircraft will remain grounded until a full assessment is completed.

Passengers affected by the delay were assisted by ground staff, and the airline is expected to provide further updates once the inspection concludes.
