National Times Bureau :- In Ajmer, a shocking incident has come to light where a 28-year-old woman allegedly killed her three-year-old daughter by throwing her into Ana Sagar Lake. Police said the accused, identified as Anjali alias Priya from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, was reportedly upset over repeated taunts from her live-in partner about having a child from her previous marriage.
Anjali, who worked as a receptionist at a local hotel along with her partner Alkesh, was captured on CCTV carrying her daughter around the lake late at night. Hours later, she was seen alone, talking on the phone, which contradicted her claim that the girl had suddenly gone missing.
The matter came to notice during a late-night patrol when head constable Govind Sharma spotted Anjali and Alkesh in Vaishali Nagar. At first, Anjali told police that her child had disappeared while they were out walking. However, CCTV evidence raised doubts, and on Wednesday morning the child’s body was found in the lake.
During questioning, Anjali broke down and confessed to killing her daughter. She admitted she was under stress due to constant taunts from her partner. Police have arrested her on charges of murder, while an investigation is underway to determine if Alkesh was involved in any way.
