Air India London Flight AIC129 Returns to Mumbai Midway After Ahmedabad Crash: Here’s the Latest Update

Mumbai (National Times): Just two days after the tragic crash of Air India Flight AI-171 in Ahmedabad that claimed 241 lives, another London-bound Air India flight, AIC129, took an unexpected turn on Saturday morning, returning to Mumbai shortly after takeoff.

The sudden reversal of Flight AI-129, operating on the Mumbai-London Heathrow route, has triggered concern and speculation, especially as the country continues to mourn the deadliest civil aviation disaster in Indian history.

According to live tracking data from Flightradar24, the Boeing 787 aircraft took off from Mumbai but made a U-turn over the Arabian Sea and is currently en route back to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. Air India has yet to release an official statement explaining the diversion, but multiple aviation sources suggest it may be a precautionary measure in light of Thursday’s tragic incident.
