Bangkok, June 13, 2025 – An Air India flight (AI 379) en route from Phuket to New Delhi was forced to make an emergency landing back at Phuket International Airport on Friday morning after receiving a bomb threat, according to airport authorities.
The flight, which had departed at 9:30 AM local time, was in mid-air when officials were alerted to the possible threat. The pilot immediately diverted course and returned to Phuket, where the aircraft landed safely.
The airport confirmed via its official Facebook page that it is following standard bomb threat protocols laid out in its Airport Contingency Plan (ACP). Authorities have not yet released further details on the source or credibility of the threat.
Passengers were safely deboarded and security teams are currently conducting a thorough inspection of the aircraft and its cargo.
