Chandigarh (Gurpreet Singh): The Punjab Vigilance Bureau has arrested Harpreet Singh Gulati, identified as a long-time associate of former cabinet minister and Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia, as part of its widening investigation into alleged financial irregularities.
Sources in the Bureau said Gulati was taken into custody following evidence that connected him to a network of liquor firms—including Akash Spriti, UV Enterprise and AD Enterprise—believed to be central to the probe. Investigators claim he oversaw cash movements for these businesses and channelled funds on behalf of the former minister.
According to officials, inquiries so far suggest that several real estate purchases in Shimla and Delhi were facilitated through Gulati, with properties reportedly acquired in Majithia’s interest. The arrest is expected to help the Vigilance Bureau trace the financial trail and verify the source of investments linked to the case.
Authorities said further questioning of Gulati is underway, and additional actions may follow based on the evidence collected in the coming days.
