Gurpreet Singh :- Another case of AI-generated images depicting sacrilegious scenes at the Golden Temple has sparked massive row triggering widespread anger amongst Sikh community.
The controversial images show cricketers standing in the parikrama of the Golden Temple posing for pictures bareheaded.
In one image, cricketer Yuvraj Singh is shown bareheaded, and in another, Hardik Pandya appears without a head covering. According to Sikh religious practices, covering one’s head is mandatory when entering Gurdwara premises.
A few days earlier, another AI-generated video showed a skeleton strolling around the gurdwara and entering langar hall wearing shoes.
In a separate clip, a person was seen driving a jeep inside the premises. The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) had strongly objected to these incidents, calling for strict action. However such practics and acts of sacriledges continue to enact despite several warnings by Sikh bodies.
Reacting to the latest images, the SGPC again expressed strong objections and urged the central and state governments to introduce strict laws so that those responsible can face tough action and such incidents can be prevented in the future.
