Ahead of Shaheedi Diwas, My Bharat Organises cleanliness drive in Chandigarh

Chandigarh (Naval Kishore): In solemn remembrance of the supreme sacrifices of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Shaheed Sukhdev, and Shaheed Rajguru, a cleanliness drive in the form of Shramdaan was successfully organized by MY Bharat, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, in association with Global Youth Federation at Lake, Sector 42, Chandigarh. The initiative was conducted under the nationwide campaign “Mera Bharat Meri Zimmedari” to mark Shaheedi Diwas.

Addressing the gathering, District Youth Officer Sh. Vinay Kumar informed that a total of 56 enthusiastic young volunteers actively participated in the drive and collected single-use plastic from the area, contributing towards a cleaner and greener environment. He also administered a pledge to all participants, reinforcing the message: “Na Gandagi Karunga, Na Karne Dunga, kyunki Mera Bharat Meri Zimmedari Hai.”

The event witnessed the gracious presence of Sh. Rohit Kumar, National Youth Awardee and Director, Global Youth Federation; Sh. Gajanan Gadekar, Assistant Section Officer, MY Bharat; Sh. Mohan Kumar, Ex-National Youth Volunteer; along with Sh. Nirmal, Sh. Amit, and other dignitaries.

The initiative highlighted the spirit of youth-led participation and collective responsibility towards nation-building, aligning with the vision of a clean and developed India.
