After Hospital Discharge, Punjab CM to Lead Statewide Flood Relief Review Today

Mohali (Gurpreet Singh): Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is returning to official duties just a day after being released from the hospital, with his first major task being a comprehensive review of Punjab’s flood relief operations.

The Chief Minister was discharged from Fortis Hospital, Mohali on Thursday afternoon after a six-day stay. He exited the hospital at approximately 4:35 PM, briefly acknowledging the public gathered outside before heading straight to his official residence in Chandigarh.

Officials confirmed that CM Mann will chair a high-level virtual meeting today at 11:00 AM, where top bureaucrats — including departmental secretaries and deputy commissioners from every district — will present updates on the flood situation and the relief measures underway.

Sources within the administration revealed that shortly after reaching home, the Chief Minister had already begun engaging with senior officers to gather preliminary updates on flood-affected regions. Today’s meeting will further dive into the scale of damage, areas still at risk, and the response measures currently in place.

Key discussion points are expected to include the extent of crop and land damage, the number of displaced residents, emergency response efficiency, and preparations for any further weather-related challenges.

The meeting signals a rapid return to work for CM Mann, emphasizing the urgency of the ongoing flood crisis. Government officials say the Chief Minister is keen to ensure that relief and rehabilitation efforts reach every affected corner of the state without delay.
