Ludhiana (Gurpreet Singh): Rajinder Pal Kaur Chhina, the Aam Aadmi Party MLA representing Ludhiana South, was injured in a road accident while returning from Delhi.
The mishap took place near the Khanauri border when her Innova car rammed into a divider. Her security gunman, who was traveling with her, also sustained injuries. The sudden impact left both requiring immediate medical attention.
Local residents and passersby rushed to assist, and emergency services transported the injured to a hospital. After preliminary treatment, doctors referred Chhina to a Ludhiana medical facility due to severe facial injuries. Sources say her condition remains critical, while her gunman is reported to be stable.
Chhina, who secured her seat in the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections, is known for her active involvement in constituency work. Police are looking into possible causes of the crash, including vehicle malfunction or driver fatigue.
